From years 2006 through present, over 63 models use Z key way #709271 ignition type lock. Sixteen of twenty models in 2009 alone, use this lock. Remove this lock in 10 minutes with absolutely no damage. Fit Key to car, and replace the same ignition lock. This kit will work even if the lock is damaged.

GM 1994 & UP, 9 & 10 wafer Ignition “Column Mounted” Removal Kit The GM lU wafer ignition must be in the “ON” position for removal This kit contains all of the special tools needed to pick the ignition and repair it. Precision tool steel drill guide locates the position for the access hole. Special drill bit and arbor are used to drill the face of the ignition. The arbor limits the depth of the drill, preventing damage to the sidebar. Sidebar pressure tool applies pressure to the sidebar, as the straight pick manipulates the wafers. The picked cylinder is removed to find code or disassembled to make the key. Repair plugs make an invisible repair.

The “Innovator” in-dash removal kit will allow the locksmith to disassemble and manipulate the GM lO wafer ignition without damage. The removal tool removes the plastic bezel and chrome cap. The tool steel drill guide accurately locates the drill site. The special drill and arbor are used to penetrate the front of the plug, gaining access to the sidebar. The arbor limits the drill depth preventing damage to the sidebar. The sidebar pressure tool and straight pick are used to manipulate the lock. Pick the lock to the “ACC” position for removal. Make the key. Reassemble the chrome face cap onto the plug and install the ignition. Replace the plastic bezel to complete the job. Original ignition is not damaged.

You may have seen other tools and methods of removing the squeeze type glove box cylinders, but this is the original AAble Plug remover. No more fumbling, scratched fingers, adapters, multi-part gadgets or the need for three hands. This tool is so easy to use and so precisely made, that you could literally “do the job in the dark,” and there is no need to remove the lock.
The tool slides over the back of the lock, and locates on the lock plungers. Flip the tool straight up, and it automatically engages the plug retaining tabs. Then, you just turn the knurled knob to spread the spread the retaining tabs and eject the lock plug.
